Bedford and Audubon took their turn March 27-28

The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the people attending the Hoop in Bedford. We thank everyone who came out on a rainy spring day to raise money for HD research. Thanks to the boys from the Clarinda Academy for their help rebounding and to the Dougherty family for all their support!

The sun came out and so did the people in Audubon for their Hoop on March 28. The gym was full of kids from Audubon where organizer Carrie Tibben is a teacher. Audubon also features a talent show that keeps everyone entertained. It was great to see so many young people working for a great cause and we thank them for their hard work and generosity.

There was a record amount of shooters this year in Des Moines and a record amount raised. The AIB College Activities Center was full as people stepped up to the free throw line to help raise money for HD Research. A big thanks to the organizers Sarah O’Neil, Lori Wesack and Matt Reimers for their hard work.

Lori Wesack and Roberta Brink shared the kitchen duties in Des Moines

Sean Thompson chaired the first ever Hoop in Iowa City with great results. They had new shooters, previous shooters and celebrity shooters. The cake walk was a hit and the concession stand reached new levels with the introduction of homemade egg rolls. Thanks to everyone from the HD center of excellence for coming out to help out and give us all a chance to meet them on a personal level.
