Website of the Iowa Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Our Mission: We are committed to promoting and supporting research to find a cure, helping families and communities affected by this disease and educating the public and healthcare professionals about HD. |

|
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is an inherited disorder that results in the slow, irreversible loss of both an individual’s mental capacity and physical control. Once thought of as rare disorder, HD is now know to be one of the more common hereditary diseases. Presently, there is no effective treatment or cure for HD and the emotional, social and economic challenge to families caring for those affected by HD remains enormous. For the Huntington’s Disease Society of America the time is now. Never has the Society been better positioned to solve the puzzle of Huntington’s Disease. But we need your help. Your gift can help us wipe out HD and end the suffering and fear. Your contribution will help HDSA to fund vital research, provide quality care and services to our HD families who face the unrelenting progression of this terrible disease and educate health care professionals and the public. HDSA is a national non-profit voluntary health agency dedicated to finding a cure for HD while providing vital support and guidance to families affected by this devastating disease. Eighty-seven cents of every dollar you give to the HDSA is spent in HD research initiatives, or in programs and services that aid our HD families. For more information about any of the giving programs or for other ways that you can help HDSA contact the Iowa Chapter at the number below or e-mail mail@hdsaiowa.org |
